This resolution creates a special legislative commission to study the provision of health insurance, disability insurance, unemployment insurance, retirement plans, and other traditional employer-provided benefits to Uber and Lyft drivers, self-directed personal care attendants, self-employed individuals, and others providing services to the public. The commission, consisting of five members appointed by the Speaker of the House, will report its findings and recommendations by January 5, 2027, and will expire on March 5, 2027.
