Rhode Island H7284, the Uniform Real Property Transfer on Death Act, enables owners of real property to execute a deed that names beneficiaries who will obtain title to the property at the owner's death without the necessity of probate. The act applies to deeds made before, on, or after January 1, 2027, by a transferor dying on or after that date. The act takes effect upon passage. The deed is revocable and can be revoked by a new deed, an instrument of revocation, or an inter vivos deed.
