Rhode Island H7246 disregards trust limitations for those with long-term-care insurance covering Rhode Island's average cost.

Rhode Island H7246 amends the state's medical assistance laws to disregard trust limitations for individuals who have purchased long-term-care insurance with a coverage payout amount equal to the average cost of long-term care in Rhode Island. This means that the resources of an individual, to the extent they are equal to the amount of qualifying long-term-care insurance benefits, will not be considered in determining Medicaid eligibility or the amount of any Medicaid payment.
