Rhode Island H7116 requires the Department of Education to create a mental health curriculum for use in all schools. This curriculum will cover the multiple dimensions of health, including the relationship between physical and mental health. School districts must provide a four-hour mental health instruction unit for seventh-grade students starting in the 2027-2028 school year. The curriculum will be based on the Rhode Island health education framework and will be available for all schools to use.
