Rhode Island H7112 caps electric distribution company rate increases at the Consumer Price Index or 5.5%, whichever is greater, unless approved by.

Rhode Island H7112 amends the General Laws to limit rate increases for electric distribution companies to the greater of the Consumer Price Index or 5.5% unless the General Assembly approves a higher rate. This act applies to electric distribution companies with 7,500 or more electricity customer accounts and takes effect upon passage.
