Introduced Text

Rhode Island H7097 removes the fee for registration and plate transfer for a Distinguished Service Cross registration plate.

Rhode Island H7097 amends the state's General Laws to eliminate the registration and plate transfer fees for recipients of the United States Army Distinguished Service Cross medal. This special registration plate, which indicates the owner as a Distinguished Service Cross recipient, will no longer require a fee. The plate will display the words "Distinguished Service Cross" and an insignia, and it will be transferred to the surviving spouse upon the holder's death. The change will take effect on January 1, 2027.
