Rhode Island H7084 amends the General Laws to authorize municipalities to adopt local ordinances for property tax exemptions for veterans who were honorably discharged or discharged under conditions other than dishonorable, regardless of their dates or periods of service. The bill specifies that the exemption applies to the property in the municipality where the veteran resides and can be claimed in any other city or town where the veteran owns property. The exemption is not allowed for individuals who are not legal residents.
