Rhode Island H7033 modifies the interest calculation in civil actions to use the average accepted auction price for the last auction of 52-week U.S. Treasury bills, as determined by the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury. This change applies to civil actions filed after the bill's enactment, except for medical malpractice cases filed against healthcare providers. The bill also maintains a 12% interest rate for post-judgment interest and certain medical malpractice cases.
