Education (K-12)

Crime & policing

Firearms
“Women’s rights must include the right to lawful self-defense. I support firearm safety, proper training, and responsible ownership, but public safety requires enforcing our laws against violent criminals, not imposing unnecessary burdens on responsible citizens who follow the law.”
Taxes & revenue
DC does not have a vote in Congress and, therefore, residents should not pay federal income taxes. Other districts and territories (such as Puerto Rico, Guam, and the US Virgin Islands) do not pay federal income taxes, and DC should not either.
Government operations
America's Founders established our Nation's Capitol as an independent District to prevent political influence on the safety and security of the Federal government. DC statehood is not only unlikely, requiring a Constitutional amendment, it's also undesirable as it would politicize the efficacy of neutral institutions like the Capitol Police.
