“We need a pathway to citizenship for all immigrants, tackle the bureaucracy that makes immigrating to this country so difficult, reform our asylum process, shut down for-profit detention centers, and not turn our back on refugees fleeing danger and disaster.”
Health Care
“As a former leader within SEIU Healthcare Michigan, I know our families cannot afford anything less than Medicare for All, which would ensure everyone in this country has healthcare — no matter their employment status, zip code, race, gender, sexuality, or disability.”
Reproductive Health
“We must codify abortion rights at the federal level and particularly protect access to medication abortion nationwide as Republicans focus their attacks on gutting access even in states that have protected abortion care like Michigan.”
Housing & Community Development
“I support a national homes guarantee that would give every Michigander safe, sustainable, and permanently affordable housing.”
Higher Education
All public colleges, universities, and trade schools should be tuition-free and all existing student loan debt should be canceled.

The government holds the investigative files on Jeffrey Epstein's trafficking of children: who paid, who flew, who knew, and which prosecutors decided back in 2008 that a plea deal was enough. Every release so far has landed late, partial, and with the redactions falling in suspiciously convenient places. The survivors have spent two decades being told to wait while the people they named kept their board seats and their reputations. There is exactly one legitimate reason to withhold any of this, and that is protecting victims who never chose to be in it; every other black box is someone being shielded who shouldn't be. Force the full release of the Epstein files with victim-identifying information redacted and nothing else, and open an independent review of how the 2008 deal was allowed to happen.
Federal law already makes it a crime to order or keep troops or armed men at a place where an election is being held, punishable by up to five years in prison and disqualification from federal office. That line has held through every contested election in living memory, because a voter who has to walk past armed federal agents to reach a ballot box is not voting freely, whatever their status. This year the signals have been mixed about whether federal personnel will be near polling places, and a draft executive order declaring a national emergency and asserting federal power over the election has circulated among the president's allies. Elections here are run by states and counties, counted in public, and certified locally. That is the design, not a loophole. Oppose any emergency federal takeover of the 2026 election and any deployment of armed federal personnel at or near polling places, and back enforcement of the ban already on the books.
The National Archives holds the founding documents and the receipts, the records that let a citizen check what the government actually did. The Smithsonian and the national museums hold the version of the American story that outlasts whoever is in office. None of that survives being run by whoever currently holds power. We are watching boards replaced with loyalists, exhibits rewritten to flatter one man, collections put at risk, and a Pearl Harbor hero's name scraped off a ship to make room for an ego. A country that lets its record be edited by the people the record is about has no way to hold anyone accountable later. Write independence for the National Archives, the Smithsonian, and the national cultural institutions into statute, with fixed board terms, protection from political removal, and no rewriting or renaming without public process.
