Elections & Campaigns
“I oppose mandatory Voter ID laws like the “SAVE Act” that impose unnecessary barriers to citizens voting. Instead, I believe in making voting easier. Voters should be automatically registered to vote when they turn eighteen and reregistered automatically when they move. Election days should be holidays. And we need no-reason absentee and early in-person voting.”
Seniors & Aging
“I’ll also fight to close the Social Security payroll tax cap to make sure the rich pay their fair share so that Social Security stays solvent well into the future.”
Business & Economy
“Trump’s incoherent, self-serving version of tariffs have only made the problem worse. I support targeted, smart tariffs that would help protect Michigan manufacturing and incubate the industries of the future with unions at the forefront.”
Taxes & Revenue
“I support raising the marginal tax rate on earnings over $1 million and a billionaire tax on wealth over $1 billion. In addition, I support a cost of living exemption on federal taxes up to $50,000.”
Technology & Telecom
“So, we've also been calling for a pause on any of this frontier A.I. research until we can assure that this is being done safely.”
International Affairs & Trade
“I want our tax dollars spent to provide good schools, to pay for healthcare, to rebuild our roads here in Michigan rather than it being sent abroad to subsidize foreign militaries.”
Health Care
“So, yes, Medicare for all is where we need to go. In the interim, we're going to do everything we can to start lowering prescription drug prices and health insurance premiums and prices, but we need to get to Medicare for all to guarantee every single person the health care that they need and deserve.”
Government Operations
“I have also been clear, I think the filibuster is antidemocratic on its own terms. And so I do hope that the Senate is willing to actually deal with the fact that we cannot allow the entire Senate to hide behind the filibuster of one senator, and we need to actually have democracy in the U.S. Senate again.”
Energy & Utilities
“I support shutting down Line 5, which is putting our Great Lakes at risk and has the potential to destroy sensitive environmental and tribal sites.”
Immigration
“We must replace our broken and unpredictable immigration policy with a clear, comprehensive, and fair system. That begins with Abolishing ICE. ICE has become a tool for autocracy.”

The government holds the investigative files on Jeffrey Epstein's trafficking of children: who paid, who flew, who knew, and which prosecutors decided back in 2008 that a plea deal was enough. Every release so far has landed late, partial, and with the redactions falling in suspiciously convenient places. The survivors have spent two decades being told to wait while the people they named kept their board seats and their reputations. There is exactly one legitimate reason to withhold any of this, and that is protecting victims who never chose to be in it; every other black box is someone being shielded who shouldn't be. Force the full release of the Epstein files with victim-identifying information redacted and nothing else, and open an independent review of how the 2008 deal was allowed to happen.
On September 15, Rep. Thomas Massie filed eight articles of impeachment against Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and the House can be forced to vote on them. The Constitution gives Congress, not the executive branch, the power to take the country to war, and it gives the House the power to remove officials who ignore that limit. Keeping American forces in combat in Iran without authorization from Congress is exactly the kind of abuse impeachment exists to answer. Impeachment is not a criminal trial. It is how Congress enforces the oath every official swears to the Constitution. Vote to impeach and remove him.
The National Archives holds the founding documents and the receipts, the records that let a citizen check what the government actually did. The Smithsonian and the national museums hold the version of the American story that outlasts whoever is in office. None of that survives being run by whoever currently holds power. We are watching boards replaced with loyalists, exhibits rewritten to flatter one man, collections put at risk, and a Pearl Harbor hero's name scraped off a ship to make room for an ego. A country that lets its record be edited by the people the record is about has no way to hold anyone accountable later. Write independence for the National Archives, the Smithsonian, and the national cultural institutions into statute, with fixed board terms, protection from political removal, and no rewriting or renaming without public process.
