“We must ensure that our nation’s veterans receive the services they have earned when they get home — from healthcare, including mental healthcare, to education and training so they can find civilian jobs, to fighting the scourge of homelessness that hits our veteran community so hard. This is our responsibility.”

Debbie firmly believes you should be able to go to the doctor when you need to go to the doctor and get the medicine and treatment you need. When you have been prescribed life-saving drugs, you shouldn’t have to ration doses just to afford them. That’s why Debbie is a Co-Chair of the Medicare for All Caucus and a House lead of the Medicare for All Act.
International Affairs & Trade
Rebuilding American manufacturing and protecting workers will always be one of her top priorities. This includes by also renegotiating the USMCA, and ensuring tariffs are implemented in a way that helps–and not harms–our domestic industries.
Seniors & Aging
As a member of the Subcommittee of Health on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, Co-Chair of the House Democratic Caucus Task Force on Aging and Families, and Co-Chair of the Long Term Care Caucus, Debbie is fighting for policies that allow seniors to retire with dignity, increase access to proper medical and long-term care, and secure the benefits they’ve earned.
Immigration
Debbie is fighting to make serious reforms that ensure ICE follows the same rules as other law enforcement agencies, like no masks, mandatory body cameras, and requiring judicial warrants.

The government holds the investigative files on Jeffrey Epstein's trafficking of children: who paid, who flew, who knew, and which prosecutors decided back in 2008 that a plea deal was enough. Every release so far has landed late, partial, and with the redactions falling in suspiciously convenient places. The survivors have spent two decades being told to wait while the people they named kept their board seats and their reputations. There is exactly one legitimate reason to withhold any of this, and that is protecting victims who never chose to be in it; every other black box is someone being shielded who shouldn't be. Force the full release of the Epstein files with victim-identifying information redacted and nothing else, and open an independent review of how the 2008 deal was allowed to happen.
The National Archives holds the founding documents and the receipts, the records that let a citizen check what the government actually did. The Smithsonian and the national museums hold the version of the American story that outlasts whoever is in office. None of that survives being run by whoever currently holds power. We are watching boards replaced with loyalists, exhibits rewritten to flatter one man, collections put at risk, and a Pearl Harbor hero's name scraped off a ship to make room for an ego. A country that lets its record be edited by the people the record is about has no way to hold anyone accountable later. Write independence for the National Archives, the Smithsonian, and the national cultural institutions into statute, with fixed board terms, protection from political removal, and no rewriting or renaming without public process.
On September 15, Rep. Thomas Massie filed eight articles of impeachment against Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and the House can be forced to vote on them. The Constitution gives Congress, not the executive branch, the power to take the country to war, and it gives the House the power to remove officials who ignore that limit. Keeping American forces in combat in Iran without authorization from Congress is exactly the kind of abuse impeachment exists to answer. Impeachment is not a criminal trial. It is how Congress enforces the oath every official swears to the Constitution. Vote to impeach and remove him.
