Pennsylvania SB990 prohibits state agencies and local authorities from restricting motor vehicles based on their power source.

Pennsylvania SB990 amends Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to prohibit state agencies and political subdivisions from restricting the use, purchase, or sale of motor vehicles based on their energy source. This includes restrictions on both the propulsion and other functions of the vehicle. The bill does not affect existing rules or policies related to vehicles owned and operated by state agencies or political subdivisions. It defines "state agency" broadly to include various units of the Commonwealth. The act will take effect 60 days after enactment.
