In hotels, providing for protection of hotel employees; and imposing penalties.

Introduced·8/25/25
Introduced Text

Pennsylvania SB976 mandates safety measures for hotel employees, including the provision of safety devices and protections against retaliation.

Pennsylvania SB976 amends Title 48 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to add a new subchapter focused on the protection of hotel employees. The bill requires hotel employers to provide each hotel employee with an employee safety device, such as a two-way radio, to be used when working alone in a guest room. Upon activation of this device, hotel management must respond promptly. The bill also mandates that employees who activate the safety device due to an immediate threat or emergency be reassigned to a different work area without loss of hours or wages.
