Pennsylvania SB972 expands the care of memorials to include those honoring first responders.

Pennsylvania SB972 amends the Second Class Township Code to allow the board of supervisors to maintain, repair, establish, or contribute to the maintenance, repair, or establishment of any memorial. This includes monuments or memorials honoring first responders such as firefighters, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, emergency vehicle drivers, and township police officers. The board may receive funds from persons or organizations for these purposes.
