Introduced Text

Pennsylvania SB959 mandates the use of a uniform health insurance claim form for all insurers and public health care coverage programs.

Pennsylvania SB959 amends the Insurance Company Law of 1921 to require all insurers, including those used by the Department of Human Services for public health care coverage, to use a uniform health insurance claim form developed by the department. The form must be implemented within 120 days of its development. Insurers may request additional information not included on the form, subject to department approval. The bill also mandates a study on the costs and benefits of direct reimbursement to nonparticipating providers and the impact on consumers and provider networks.
