Introduced Text

Pennsylvania SB955 establishes a mental health registration plate and a dedicated account for the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

Pennsylvania SB955 amends vehicle registration laws by introducing a mental health registration plate featuring the Liberty Bell with a teal and purple ribbon overlay and the phrase "Mental Health Matters." The Department of Transportation will issue these plates for motorcycles, passenger cars, trucks, and motor homes upon application and an additional $42 fee. Fifteen dollars from each fee will be credited to the newly established Mental Health Restricted Account in the State Treasury, dedicated to the operations of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline or its successor.
