Pennsylvania SB9, known as the Fairness in Women's Sports Act, requires sports in public schools and higher education to be labeled male, female, or coed. It prohibits female sports from being open to male students. The bill also creates legal recourse for students deprived of athletic opportunities or harmed by violations, allowing them to sue for damages and other relief. Schools and institutions can also sue for harm caused by government entities or organizations. The act takes effect 60 days after enactment.
