Pennsylvania SB868 prohibits government-owned electronic devices from using technology that prevents record preservation.

Pennsylvania SB868 amends Title 71 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to add a part titled "Preservation of Records." The bill prohibits government-owned electronic devices from downloading, installing, or accessing applications, software, or other technologies that prevent the devices from maintaining or preserving records as required by law. This prohibition does not apply to law enforcement activities, security interests, security research, or risk mitigation actions where such technology may be required.
