Pennsylvania SB862 amends the process for filling vacancies in elective borough offices.

Pennsylvania SB862 modifies the procedures for filling vacancies in elective borough offices. It establishes a vacancy board to fill positions if the borough council fails to do so within 30 days. The vacancy board must fill the position within 15 days. If the vacancy board does not fill the position, the court of common pleas will fill it upon petition from either the remaining council members or 15 registered electors.
