Pennsylvania SB804 prohibits the manufacture, sale, and distribution of medical devices containing intentionally added DEHP.

Pennsylvania SB804 amends Title 35 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to establish regulations on medical devices containing ortho-phthalates, specifically Di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP). Beginning January 1, 2027, the bill prohibits the manufacture, sale, and distribution of intravenous solution containers made with intentionally added DEHP. For intravenous tubing, the prohibition begins January 1, 2027, for use in neonatal intensive care units or for nutrition infusions or oncology treatment infusions, and extends to all intravenous tubing by January 1, 2032.
