Introduced Text

Pennsylvania SB795 imposes an excise fee on transportation network companies for fares charged in cities and outside cities.

Pennsylvania SB795 amends the state's statutes to impose an excise fee on transportation network companies. Companies operating within a city of the first class must remit 4.6% of gross receipts from fares to the Public Transportation Trust Fund. Companies operating outside such cities must remit 6% of gross receipts. The fees are to be remitted quarterly and deposited into the fund. The fund will then allocate these revenues to programs established under the act. The act takes effect immediately.
