Pennsylvania SB759 requires all drinking water outlets in school buildings to be equipped with certified point-of-use filters by January 1, 2027. The bill establishes the Safe Schools Drinking Water Fund to award grants for the installation of these filters and the replacement of drinking water fountains. The Department of Environmental Protection is tasked with developing technical guidance, grant programs, and maintenance schedules. Preference for grants is given to schools built before 2014 and those with prekindergarten students.
