Pennsylvania SB735 amends Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to modify chemical testing provisions for drivers. It allows testimony from certified drug recognition experts, who hold credentials from the International Association of Chiefs of Police and the Drug Evaluation and Classification Program, to be admissible in court as evidence of impairment. The bill also clarifies that other competent evidence can be introduced to determine if a driver was under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or a combination of both. This act takes effect immediately upon enactment.
