SB733

In higher education accountability and transparency, further providing for exit counseling.

Introduced·5/12/25
Introduced Text

Pennsylvania SB733 mandates exit counseling for students with loans at higher education institutions.

Pennsylvania SB733 requires institutions of higher education to provide financial aid counseling to students at the end of their final academic term if they have federal or other loans that require repayment. Counseling must be offered unless the student opts out. For students who transfer or withdraw without notifying the institution, the institution must attempt to provide counseling, and if unable to contact the student, mail the information to their last known address. This act amends the Public School Code of 1949 to include these provisions.
