SB704

Providing for stabilization and security of Pennsylvania's electricity supply and for identifying and designating sites suitable for natural gas electric generation projects.

Chamber Passed·2/4/26
Introduced Text

Pennsylvania SB704 identifies sites for natural gas electric generation projects to stabilize and secure the state's electricity supply.

Pennsylvania SB704, known as the Grid Stabilization and Security Act, directs the Department of Community and Economic Development to identify economically viable sites for natural gas electric generation projects. These sites must be near producing natural gas wells or pipelines, existing electric transmission permits, and capable of providing economic benefits to the state and its residents. The department must prepare a list of these sites, submit it to the Department of Environmental Protection's Bureau of Air Quality, and publish it on its website.
