Pennsylvania SB623 amends Title 35 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes by updating definitions. It defines "telecommunicator" as an individual employed by a public safety answering point, responsible for receiving, processing, transmitting, or dispatching emergency and nonemergency calls. The bill also updates the definition of "emergency responder" to include various professionals such as emergency medical services providers, peace officers, telecommunicators, coroners, and corrections officers. This act will take effect in 60 days.
