Pennsylvania SB52 prohibits insurers from setting annual or lifetime limits on core health benefits.

Pennsylvania SB52, the Health Insurance Protection Against Limitations Act, prohibits insurers from establishing annual or lifetime limits on core health benefits for enrollees. Core benefits include those for which no such limits were previously allowed. The act applies to individual and group health insurance policies issued or renewed after certain dates, depending on regulatory filing requirements. The Insurance Department can exempt certain benefits from these prohibitions through regulation.
