Pennsylvania SB394 proposes an amendment to the state constitution to end the authority of school districts to levy or collect real property taxes on homesteads and farmsteads after June 30, 2030. The amendment also mandates that the Legislature provide annual maintenance and support to school districts, equivalent to the real property tax collected on homesteads and farmsteads, minus annual debt service obligations, until June 30, 2030. This support is to be deposited into the Stabilization of Education Fund and cannot be diverted for other purposes.
