Pennsylvania SB343 amends Title 18 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to further provide for the offense of aggravated assault. The bill classifies aggravated assault as a felony of the first degree if it involves officers, agents, employees, or other persons performing their duties, or if it targets an employee of an agency, company, or entity engaged in public transportation. Aggravated assault is a felony of the second degree in other cases. The changes will take effect 60 days after the act's passage.
