Introduced Text

Pennsylvania SB239 establishes a mandate waiver program for school entities.

Pennsylvania SB239 amends the Public School Code of 1949 to create a mandate waiver program. This program allows governing bodies of school entities to apply for waivers of certain provisions in state laws, regulations, standards, and policies. The Department of Education must approve, disapprove, or request modifications to waiver applications within 30 days. If the department fails to act, the waiver is automatically approved. A waiver remains in effect unless rescinded by the governing body or found to be in violation of law.
