Introduced Text

Pennsylvania SB189 mandates LGBTQ identifiers on all Commonwealth agency forms and prohibits discrimination based on these identifiers.

Pennsylvania SB189, known as the Data for LGBTQ Lives Act, requires all Commonwealth agencies to include an LGBTQ identifier on their forms, documents, and applications. This identifier must be clear, conspicuous, and designed to include nonbinary individuals without infringing on mental or physical well-being. Agencies cannot require individuals to answer this identifier as a condition for services, benefits, or employment. Additionally, agencies must offer an option to not answer and cannot disclose responses in a way that reveals personal information.
