Pennsylvania SB1405 amends Title 18 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to expand the definition of "actively engaged in fighting the fire" to include efforts to detect fires, firefighting response, extinguishing fires, and efforts to protect life and property. This definition also includes measures to assist in activities related to fire suppression, such as traffic control and station standby. The bill takes effect in 60 days.
