Pennsylvania SB1401 amends the Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law by adding surveillance pricing to the list of unfair methods of competition and unfair or deceptive acts or practices. Surveillance pricing is defined as offering or setting a customized price for goods or services using technological methods, systems, or tools to analyze personal data. The act prohibits this practice unless it meets certain criteria, such as being based on different costs or publicly disclosed terms and conditions.
