Introduced Text

Pennsylvania SB1345 allows municipalities to impose a temporary moratorium on new applications for high impact data centers.

Pennsylvania SB1345 amends the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code to allow municipalities to impose a temporary moratorium on new applications for high impact data centers. This moratorium can last up to 18 months and prohibits the filing or consideration of documents related to high impact data centers. A moratorium can be imposed to allow time for infrastructure capacity assessments, public safety and emergency services impact analysis, environmental and community impact evaluations, and drafting and consideration of zoning ordinances.
