Pennsylvania SB1269 provides for the installation of electrified security systems on commercial entities' property and property of exclusively nonresidential use. The systems must not exceed 12 volts direct current, interface with a monitored alarm device, and be located behind a nonelectrified perimeter barrier. The systems must be clearly identified with warning signs and installed by entities authorized to conduct business in Pennsylvania. Municipalities may require registration of the alarm system and prohibit systems that do not meet the requirements.
