Pennsylvania SB1269, known as the Commercial and Nonresidential Products and Property Protection Act, permits commercial entities and sole proprietorships to install electrified security systems on properties not designated for residential use. These systems must include an energizer, a monitored alarm device, and be located behind a nonelectrified barrier. The systems must also be clearly marked with warning signs and registered with the municipality. The act allows municipalities to require registration and prohibit systems that do not meet the specified requirements.
