Pennsylvania SB1263 prohibits local governments from limiting occupancy based on familial relationships.

Pennsylvania SB1263 amends Title 53 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to prohibit local government units from limiting the number of individuals who may live together in a single dwelling based on familial relationships. Exceptions are allowed only if based on health and safety standards, including those from the International Building Code, International Residential Code, International Property Maintenance Code, fire code regulations, or Department of Environmental Protection wastewater and water quality standards. The act takes effect 60 days after enactment.
