Pennsylvania SB123 amends Title 23 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to enhance protection from abuse orders by including electronic monitoring for defendants who present a substantial risk of violating the order or committing a crime against the victim. The court may order the defendant to wear an electronic monitoring device that continuously tracks their location within a 100-mile radius and sends alerts to law enforcement if removed. The device can only be removed by the court for good cause shown and must notify the plaintiff if it is removed. This act takes effect in 60 days.
