Pennsylvania SB1210 amends the Insurance Department Act of 1921 to modify the powers and duties of the insurance department. Specifically, it grants the commissioner exclusive authority to approve or contract for approval of programs or courses of study that prepare candidates for an insurance producer licensing examination. These approved courses or programs will be exempt from the requirements of the Private Licensed Schools Act. The changes in the bill take effect immediately upon enactment.
