Introduced·2/27/26
Introduced Text

Pennsylvania SB1185 establishes an annual open enrollment period for Medicare supplement insurance and removes inconsistent regulations.

Pennsylvania SB1185 amends the Medicare Supplement Insurance Act by adding an annual open enrollment period for individuals insured under a policy or certificate. This period begins on the individual's birthday and lasts for at least 90 days, allowing them to purchase any Medicare supplement policy or certificate with the same benefits as their current coverage. Insurers cannot deny or condition the issuance of a policy or discriminate in pricing based on health status or claims history during this period.
