Introduced·12/22/25
Introduced Text

Pennsylvania SB1120 establishes a private right of action for individuals adversely affected by violations of oil and gas regulations.

Pennsylvania SB1120 amends Title 58 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to establish a private right of action for individuals adversely affected by violations of oil and gas regulations. This allows such individuals to commence a civil action to compel compliance with the regulations or seek remedies against the department or other violators. Actions can be filed in the appropriate court of common pleas or in Commonwealth Court, which are granted jurisdiction to hear these actions. The bill specifies that intervention is not allowed if the department is already prosecuting the case.
