Pennsylvania SB1022 amends the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act to expand access to emergency opioid antagonists and provide immunity for certain individuals administering them. The bill requires public and nonpublic schools and institutions of higher education to maintain supplies of emergency opioid antagonists and authorizes trained employees to administer them to students or employees experiencing an opioid-related overdose. It also mandates training programs for various groups, including law enforcement, firefighters, and emergency medical services providers.
