Pennsylvania HB995 establishes a statewide disaster plan and response capability for owned animals affected by disasters.

Pennsylvania HB995 amends Title 35 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to include provisions for emergency preparedness for owned animals. The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency will administer the plan, allocate funds, and include animal protection provisions in the Commonwealth Emergency Management Plan. Funding will be provided annually to approved animal response teams for planning, developing, and maintaining animal response and rescue capabilities.
