HB961

In dams, bar racks and migration devices, further providing for marking of dams.

Introduced·3/19/25

Pennsylvania HB961 mandates marking of run-of-the-river dams with signs and buoys to warn the public of hazards.

Pennsylvania HB961 amends Title 30 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to enhance safety around run-of-the-river dams. The bill requires permittees and owners of such dams to mark areas above and below the dams, as well as adjacent banks, with signs and buoys during specified periods. These markers must be of a design and content determined by the commission to warn the swimming, fishing, and boating public of the hazards posed by the dam.
