Pennsylvania HB933 amends the Construction Workplace Misclassification Act to strengthen enforcement against improper employee classification. The bill increases penalties for violations, allowing the Department of Labor and Industry to issue stop-work orders for employers who intentionally misclassify employees. It also raises the maximum penalty for each day of violation to $2,500 and mandates that penalties be divided between the Workers' Compensation Administration Fund and the department for enforcement costs.
