Pennsylvania HB899, known as the Healthy Workplaces Act, establishes a minimum earned paid sick time policy for employees. Employers must provide employees with one hour of paid sick time for every 30 hours worked. Employees can use this time for their own health needs, to care for family members, and in cases of domestic violence or public health emergencies. Employers cannot require employees to find a replacement or penalize them for using earned paid sick time.
