Pennsylvania HB835 amends Title 61 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to provide for early parole for offenders on parole who receive educational or vocational certifications. Specifically, the bill reduces the period of supervision by 90 days for eligible offenders. This applies to those who obtain a high school diploma, associate's degree, bachelor's degree, career certificate, vocational certificate, technical certification, or high school equivalency diploma. The exception is for offenders convicted of a crime of violence. The act will take effect 60 days after its passage.
