Introduced·3/4/25
Introduced Text

Pennsylvania HB803 mandates schools to maintain opioid antagonists and allows trained personnel to administer them during suspected opioid overdoses.

Pennsylvania HB803 amends the Public School Code of 1949 to require schools offering grades nine through twelve to maintain opioid antagonists. The Department of Education, in consultation with the Department of Health, must develop a policy outlining procedures for suspected opioid overdose events and the quantities and types of opioid antagonists to be maintained. Trained school personnel, such as nurses and teachers, can administer these antagonists during emergencies without prior drug abuse history.
