Pennsylvania HB642 amends penalties for violations of oil and gas regulations.

Pennsylvania HB642 amends Title 58 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes to revise penalties for violations of oil and gas regulations. It increases the fine for a general violation from $1,000 to $2,000 and for a willful violation from $5,000 to $10,000. The bill also prohibits the department from waiving fines for these violations and allows the department or the district attorney to institute criminal proceedings. Each day of a continuing violation is considered a separate offense.
