Pennsylvania HB578 amends the Pennsylvania Safe Drinking Water Act to establish maximum contaminant levels for polyfluoroalkyl and perfluorinated substances, including perfluorooctane sulfonate, perfluorooctanoic acid, perfluorononanoic acid, and perfluorohexane sulfonic acid, at 10 parts per trillion. If a maximum contaminant level is established by the Environmental Quality Board, an executive order of the Governor, or the United States Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Environmental Resources must publish the notice in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.
